San francisco mural project
In May of 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, ArtSprouts and Paint the Void, a non-profit that sponsors artists to paint murals on boarded up storefronts all across the nation, collaborated to help beautify the city of San Francisco.
After reaching out to ArtSprouts about a music club called Blues and Biscuits whose owner expressed interest in a mural, Paint the Void sponsored ArtSprouts artists to go out to Union Square in San Francisco to paint a music themed mural.
A month later, a team of ArtSprouts’ student artists carried buckets of paints and brushes to the music club, making the design they had been planning for the past month come to life.
That year, Blues and Biscuits had experienced great loss from forced closure due to the pandemic, bringing down over a quarter of their industry. However, their worldwide has fanbase showed overwhelming support and as of now, everyone is awaiting their reopening. ArtSprouts is more than happy to have done their part by creating a beautiful original art piece for them, meanwhile lifting the spirits of the San Francisco community.
